Romania’s largest Internet service provider chooses AP ENPS

LONDON - RCS & RDS, Romania's largest Internet Service Provider and the leading provider of television, Internet and telephony services, has chosen Associated Press ENPS as its news production system to produce and manage both national and regional news output.

RCS & RDS, which is due to launch a news channel, also owns several TV stations, including Digi Sport in Romania, Hungary and Slovakia and movie channel Digi Film, in Romania.

The multiplatform ENPS solution will allow RCS & RDS journalists to write and share stories and content within their Bucharest broadcast centre and their regional newsrooms across Romania. RCS & RDS will also take full advantage of the ENPS Mobile Suite to allow journalists to contribute stories remotely and monitor live running orders from smart phones, tablets or the web.

RCS & RDS CEO Alexandru Oprea said: “ENPS is the perfect fit for our fast-moving news output. ENPS has a reputation for reliability and flexibility that made it the obvious choice for us.”

ENPS Director of International Business Development Paddy Payne said: “We are delighted that RCS & RDS has selected ENPS – the system meets all their requirements of workflow and sharing material across regional newsrooms.”

In Romania, ENPS’s integrated news production system is installed with TVR, ProTV, Antena Group, B1-TV and Antena 3. The Bucharest ENPS system is integrated with the Quantel sQ View application, allowing journalists to view and edit media in an ActiveX window without the need to leave the ENPS application. The system was supplied through ENPS official distributor RomTek Electronics.
