AP, 25 exhibitors showcase latest ENPS broadcast news tech solutions at NAB

WASHINGTON, D.C. – At this year’s NAB Show hosted by the National Association of Broadcasters, more than 85,000 audio, video and film content professionals will have the opportunity to check out The Associated Press and its vast array of digital solutions including broadcast, online video and mobile technologies. During the conference which runs from April 10 – 15, the AP exhibit can be found at booth no. SU2002 in the South Upper Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center, where the news cooperative will introduce new Twitter and YouTube integration for ENPS, the leading news production system used by half of America's TV networks and more than 40% of the world's newsrooms. Additionally, the AP has tapped 25 broadcast system vendors to showcase ENPS capabilities at the trade event.

“We design industry solutions tailored to the needs of our member news providers while helping them simplify, streamline and reduce costs,” said Lee Perryman, AP’s director of broadcast technology. “Our team continues to drive innovation, cultivating development relationships with more than 100 companies across the globe, and hundreds of ENPS sites use our MOS-enabled systems integrating products.”

One of the big ENPS innovations this year is tight integration with popular social networking tools. Now, journalists can quickly and easily monitor content from both Twitter and YouTube within ENPS using familiar workflows. ENPS users can also publish news updates to their station’s Twitter feeds without leaving ENPS.

This exciting new functionality allows ENPS users to better engage with their communities and serves as a tool for enhanced newsgathering. The YouTube integration acts as a quick, simple method for viewers to submit their own newsworthy video content.

AP is also introducing the new ENPS Smartphone Client, which puts the power of ENPS on mobile phones and lets users get more work done in the field and away from the newsroom. The smartphone client is part of an update to the ENPS Mobile Suite, which also includes enhanced script-editing capabilities in the ENPS Web Client and a new ENPS plug-in for Microsoft Outlook.

The latest ENPS 7 innovations will be on display, featuring powerful tools for multi-platform content creation and increased newsroom collaboration, including:

• A new side-by-side multi-platform story editor
• Automated metadata enrichment
• Automated discovery of related content
• The ability to easily link related stories
