ENPS secures double sign-up in South Asian market

The Associated Press is delighted to announce two new ENPS signings in South Asia. Day & Night News and ABN Andhra Jyothi have both signed up to use ENPS – joining journalists in nearly 700 newsrooms in some 60 countries across five continents who use the system to create, manage and deliver their video news content.

Day & Night News based in Chandigarh will be the first ENPS site in India’s Punjab region, near the Pakistani border. The regional news channel which provides news in Punjabi, Hindi and English will take 33 workstation licenses for full system ENPS, Final Cut Pro, Building 4 Media automation and unnamed graphics system.

The second Indian signing is with ABN Andhra Jyothi, a regional news station in Hyderabad launched by the well known regional newspaper group. Installation of 20 ENPS workstations and system training has already been completed, with dry operation runs currently underway.

The two new signings bring ENPS’s Indian client list up to 15 operating in 25 newsrooms across the country. They join an impressive client list of leading broadcasters in the country’s fast-expanding and dynamic media industry including Doordarshan – one of the largest terrestrial broadcasters in the world - making India the fastest growing ENPS market worldwide and further consolidating ENPS’s position in Asia.

At IBC 2009, AP will be show-casing the ‘Digital Publishing Engine’ (DPE) - the first module of the version 7 family. The DPE will enhance productivity by enabling users to get multimedia content on air, online, and to mobile devices using a single, simple workflow. Dynamic feedback from the broadcaster’s public website will automatically flow back into ENPS allowing producers to easily see which stories are getting the most attention. All ENPS 7.0 components will bolt right on to existing ENPS 6.0 systems, facilitating seamless deployment in production environments.

AP will also be demonstrating all the latest features in version 6.0 as well as the newly enhanced ENPS Mobile Suite which enables journalists to work remotely on laptops, PDAs and mobile phones to browse agency wires, consult running orders and read and write stories, taking the newsroom to the story.

In addition, ENPS will be installed at the IBC stands of more than 20 leading broadcast technology manufacturers, demonstrating the most efficiently integrated news workflows in the market.
