10 more TV newsrooms add AP’s ENPS
Building on its record growth in 2003, AP’s ENPS software continues to penetrate newsrooms everywhere with its innovative content workflow integration. During the first quarter of 2004, 10 more TV stations selected the industry’s most popular newsroom software. They join almost 500 other worldwide broadcasters, U.S. networks and station groups, and 24-hour cable news channels recognizing the flexibility, reliability and end-to-end workflow solutions that ENPS provides.
"Our aggressive, non-stop development efforts deliver stations unmatched technical achievements," said Lee Perryman Deputy Director of AP's Broadcast division and Director of Broadcast Technology. "What that means, quite simply, is that journalists perform better using ENPS, taking fewer steps with less confusion for greater productivity for their news enterprises."
In the last two quarters, nearly 75 more newsrooms have added ENPS and soon will be taking advantage of ENPS 4.5 – the latest upgrade of the newsroom software, which will be introduced at this year’s NAB and RTNDA Convention in Las Vegas.
ENPS 4.5 builds upon the world’s best selling news production software by providing users with a seamless, end-to-end workflow and many, new customizable features. Automated national and local content integration, improved communication tools, emerging and developing story updates, and sophisticated newsgathering options are among the new, key ENPS 4.5 features that provide more efficient workflow for ENPS users in the field or at the desktop.
Designed by and for broadcast journalists, ENPS is a fit for all types of demanding news production environments, with powerful, easy-to-use features include scripting, rundowns, planning, contacts, messaging, archiving, third-party device control, news wire management, remote access capabilities for field staff, and the industry's only fully-integrated search engine.
In 2003, AP introduced ENPS 4.0 with features that include: Web Publishing, which allows journalists to seamlessly integrate content for on-air and online use; ENPS STATS, which tallies votes and tabulations on election night and automatically updates CGs, workstations and Web sites; ENPS OPENS, which allows users to collect and easily update audiences of school and event closings when severe weather hits. Another recent ENPS addition is SNAPfeed. It makes in-the-field video transmission fast and simple, no matter where you are, as long as you have a phone connection.
