ENPS scores again in the Balkans
Pro TV chooses ENPS for new TV Centre.
One of Romania’s leading broadcasters has chosen AP’s ENPS as their news production system of choice in a full-scale overhaul of their entire network.
Pro TV, based in Bucharest, will install 200 workstations over five years. It is the fifth installation for ENPS in the Balkan region. An established broadcaster, Pro TV has 4 national channels, including both satellite and terrestrial, and is the market leader in Romania. Its main channel produces five news bulletins a day interspersed with entertainment programming. Pro TV have outgrown the 11 storey building which they have occupied since 1995 and will move to new premises in the next two years. The new and completely modernised facility will include a 300 square meter newsroom. "We selected ENPS’ news production system after careful thought and analysis and I’m sure that we made the right choice based on the extremely favorable signals I already received from our news producers and journalists," said Adrian Tranca, Chief Information Officer, Pro TV.
The station’s major shareholder is CME. Adrian Sarbu, who also part owns the station, signed the contract with Eric Bowman, ENPS’s Director of International Business Development. "We are proud to enter into this partnership with the Pro TV group at such an exciting time in their expansion. The implementation of ENPS at this phase of their development, as a precursor to a new newsroom in a new facility, will provide them both the flexibility as they update their workflow as well as a stable platform for integrating newly-installed newsroom hardware," said Bowman.
Designed by and for broadcast journalists, ENPS operates in all types of demanding news production environments, with powerful, easy-to-use features including scripting, rundowns, planning, contacts, messaging, archiving, third-party device control, news wire management, remote access capabilities, and the industry's only fully-integrated search engine. Using the MOS protocol, ENPS supports integration of news production products developed by more than 30 companies. AP provides production technology for many of the world's largest and most demanding broadcasters, and the ENPS system is now used by more than 40,000 reporters, writers, editors and producers in more than 500 newsrooms in 48 countries.
