CompixMOS
www.compix.tv

CompixMOS allows all users within a News Room Computer System (NRCS) environment to directly insert CG events
into any news show script. Reporters, editors, and producers can use CompixMOS to select pre-defined graphic templates, then add text, objects or still images to those graphics - all from within the NRCS rundown script interface.
A library of template thumbnails can be browsed, and individual templates can be selected, with pre-defined properly
positioned fields, preset with font, color, size, and other graphic attributes that make up the look of the graphic. The
graphic is then available for data entry by the NRCS user from any workstation on the NRCS network. The user can
also preview what the on-air CG will look like and to verify style and accurate locater, spelling, descriptions, etc.
Most popular systems are supported, including the AP ENPS newsroom computer system. The completed graphics automatically become part of the rundown without requiring any intervention by technical staff.
Supported ENPS Workflow
Running Order Control
This device allows ENPS to dynamically build and control a playlist within the media server. Changes to the Running Order in ENPS result in immediate changes to the sequence of media objects queued for playout by the media server.
Item Status
This vendor sends real-time status information during playback and other functions which is displayed through ENPS writers and producers in real-time. This includes the use of a minimum set of standard status messages which enable color coding and the automated movement of the ENPS timing bar.
ActiveX Plug-in Functionality: Search & Find/Click & View/Drag & Drop
ENPS users can discover media stored on this device through the use of simple searches within ENPS. When a media description or link is found in ENPS, a user may simply click on the media to view it. The media can be linked to ENPS Running Orders, Stories and Assignments by simply dragging it into and ENPS document.
Media Thumbnails and Preview Video
This vendor provides thumbnail images and proxy video which are closely integrated within the ENPS Story display and editing windows.
Channel Assignment
This product enables ENPS users to directly assign media play-out channels from the ENPS Running Order.
Media Awareness
This device sends ENPS a description of the media it stores. The description contains structured metadata and a pointer to the media object. This information is used by ENPS to return media in search results. Pointers are used to link media to ENPS documents, including Stories, Running Orders and Assignments using simple drag and drop workflow.
MOS Redirection
This product works with ENPS to transfer media between machines and locations using instruction and metadata from ENPS. When stories containing media are moved from one ENPS location in ENPS to another this vendor offers the option to automatically transfer the media contained in the stories without further user interaction. This can be used to automatically transfer media between servers and NLE's within a single newsroom, or between multiple newsrooms and production servers in different cities.
