OverDrive is a highly flexible production control system that enables touch screen control over the devices used in a production environment. OverDrive integrates with the Synergy SD, MD/X and Vision series of production switchers, leveraging their powerful control interfaces over video servers, VTRs, DDRs, audio mixers, robotic cameras, routers, still stores and more.

OverDrive also offers a MOS newsroom interface featuring an ActiveX plug-in that integrates directly into a variety of newsroom systems such as Associated Press' ENPS. This interface enables production elements, such as switcher effects, DVE effects, audio mixes and robotic camera moves to be placed directly into the Running Order. The interface provides a LiveLink™ from the newsroom system Running Order to the OverDrive production Running Order. Changes made in the newsroom system Running Order are immediately updated in OverDrive.

The OverDrive production control system has been designed for a variety of applications such as news, sports, live event and faith-based productions. The flexibility of the system allows users to have fully automated, semi-automated or traditional manually controlled productions all from the same control room. With OverDrive, you have full access to your production equipment, and full control over your production at all times.

Supported ENPS Workflow

Running Order Control

This device allows ENPS to dynamically build and control a playlist within the media server. Changes to the Running Order in ENPS result in immediate changes to the sequence of media objects queued for playout by the media server.

Item Status

This vendor sends real-time status information during playback and other functions which is displayed through ENPS writers and producers in real-time. This includes the use of a minimum set of standard status messages which enable color coding and the automated movement of the ENPS timing bar.

Channel Assignment

This product enables ENPS users to directly assign media play-out channels from the ENPS Running Order.

Story Send

This product uses the full body of text within ENPS documents, including all media pointers and custom metadata. This product also dynamically tracks the sequence of Stories and Assignments within active ENPS Running Orders and Assignment grids.

MOS Redirection

This product works with ENPS to transfer media between machines and locations using instruction and metadata from ENPS.  When stories containing media are moved from one ENPS location in ENPS to another this vendor offers the option to automatically transfer the media contained in the stories without further user interaction.  This can be used to automatically transfer media between servers and NLE's within a single newsroom, or between multiple newsrooms and production servers in different cities.

Ross Video Overdrive ActiveX Plug-in

When a media description or link is found in ENPS, a user may simply click on the media to view it. The media can be linked to ENPS Running Orders, Stories and Assignments by simply dragging it into and ENPS document.
