EVS CleanEdit Suite is an end-to-end news production system. Based around powerful NLE software, the fully redundant modular design allows the system to be scaled to meet the most demanding workflow requirements and be tailored to any newsroom environment. The editing tools allow journalists and editors to work intuitively. Since no rendering is ever required, news can be broken to air in a flash.
Together with EVS engineered XT[2] servers, CleanEdit Suite combines all the flexibility of tapeless systems with the creativity of a world-class NLE for fast, efficient news and sport production in both HD and SD.
Key Features
End-to-end solution from ingest to playout -
Browsing, clipping, media management, editing and approvals, all within the same environment
Optimised for speed and productivity -
Intuitive and customisable UIs. Works in native formats meaning no transcoding or rendering delays
Highly secure and reliable -
No single point of failure. Instant and automatic save function across all media.
Interoperability with third party devices.
Native MXF support for P2 and XDCAM formats. Multiformat support for MPEG Long-GOP and I-Frame, DV, DVCPRO. Seamless integration with NRCS systems via MOS. Interoperable with external graphics systems. Open SQL database for specific integration needs. Fully compatible with the DIVA archive solution.
MOS Gateway -
The EVS MOS Gateway is specially designed for busy and hectic environments. It automatically sends the incoming media in the NRCS sub-folders, respecting predefined rules. The journalists can then retrieve all those media a very fast way, in this structured environment. Each media can be previewed and browsed through the EVS ActiveX component, even while media is still recording. This component, like StoryCutter allows creating storyboards and sending them as edits to some editors."
Supported ENPS Workflow
Running Order Control
This device allows ENPS to dynamically build and control a playlist within the media server. Changes to the Running Order in ENPS result in immediate changes to the sequence of media objects queued for playout by the media server.
Item Status
This vendor sends real-time status information during playback and other functions which is displayed through ENPS writers and producers in real-time. This includes the use of a minimum set of standard status messages which enable color coding and the automated movement of the ENPS timing bar.
ActiveX Plug-in Functionality: Search & Find/Click & View/Drag & Drop
ENPS users can discover media stored on this device through the use of simple searches within ENPS. When a media description or link is found in ENPS, a user may simply click on the media to view it. The media can be linked to ENPS Running Orders, Stories and Assignments by simply dragging it into and ENPS document.
Media Thumbnails and Preview Video
This vendor provides thumbnail images and proxy video which are closely integrated within the ENPS Story display and editing windows.
Media Awareness
This device sends ENPS a description of the media it stores. The description contains structured metadata and a pointer to the media object. This information is used by ENPS to return media in search results. Pointers are used to link media to ENPS documents, including Stories, Running Orders and Assignments using simple drag and drop workflow.
EVS ActiveX Plug-in
This vendor provides an ActiveX plug-in for ENPS which allows users to search, edit, and preview media in addition to adding voiceovers, all from the ENPS user interface.
