Avid NewsCutter

www.avid.com

The NRCS tool incorporated in the Avid NewsCutter editing applications allows the editor to view stories and Running Orders located in ENPS.

When planning a news program in ENPS, media ID’s are created for expected video packages. The Avid NewsCutter NRCS Tool opens an ENPS session and displays all of the unfulfilled media ID’s from the MOS-enabled Running Order. By choosing a specific ID, NewsCutter automatically creates a sequence and bin with the corresponding media ID name to minimize any confusion or operator error.

Armed with duration of the story in the timeline, the editor is able to edit the video to match the script in both content and timing, without having to go between the newsroom application and his editing system. Selecting Send To Playback in NewsCutter, the clip is saved to the playout server with that ID, and a “ready” status is sent to ENPS for display in the story slug.

Supported ENPS Workflow

Running Order Control

This device allows ENPS to dynamically build and control a playlist within the media server. Changes to the Running Order in ENPS result in immediate changes to the sequence of media objects queued for playout by the media server.

Story Send

This product uses the full body of text within ENPS documents, including all media pointers and custom metadata. This product also dynamically tracks the sequence of Stories and Assignments within active ENPS Running Orders and Assignment grids.
