Easy Ticker Integration
AP offers more than a dozen Internet-delivered tickers for on-air use. AP tickers can cover a variety of topics including Global Top Stories, U.S. Headlines, Business, Sports, Entertainment, Technology, etc.
With ENPS 4.5, newsrooms can now automatically combine their own content into the AP news tickers bringing viewers a more complete update of the latest stories.
The new Ticker system makes it simple for your news enterprise to build on AP content. News productions tools can now be integrated, making your journalists' workflow more efficient and your audiences' news experience more complete.
How it works
AP has provided its Ticker clients with an application that downloads ticker content and outputs to a CG device in your newsroom. The new ENPS 4.5 Ticker System incorporates the download into the ENPS News Wire Profiler. This enables your journalists to easily interleave local content with AP ticker material.
The Ticker download is built into the News Wire Profiler, where journalists will enter their account information and select the ticker categories they want to display. For each of these categories, they will enter a friendly name.
In ENPS, users will create rundowns into which they will put a combination of local and ticker content. Special lines in the rundown will represent each ticker category.
The available choices in the “ticker category” field will be the same as the “friendly name” list set up in the NWP.
Once the local content is written and the NWP passes the ticker headlines to the ticker RO, ENPS then downloads all the content to the CG, looping through the rundown over time and picking up new local content and new ticker headlines.
